the Swedish Performing Rights Society
One of SKAP's most important tasks is to monitor and support Stim, the Swedish Performing Rights Society. SKAP, FST (Society of Swedish Composers) and Musikförläggarna (Swedish Music Publishers Association) each represents one third of Stim's board. SKAP represents the music writers and lyricists and ensures that Stim works efficiently, transparently and does not discriminate against any authors. Read more about Stim here.
Activities in Europe
SKAP carries out opionion-forming work, both in Sweden and at EU level. In these areas, SKAP's main aims are to protect authors' rights and to strive for musical diversity. SKAP and its chairman Alfons Karabuda chair the European lobbying organisation ECSA (the European Composer & Songwriter Alliance), which represents all European composers.
